Fun Facts

I am a born and raised Atlanta girl that transplanted to Savannah for work. I love reading, walking with my dog, baking and quilting. I am the second oldest of 4 children and my younger brother and sister are twins!
I am most excited that this summer I get the opportunity to take my students to Europe to travel and see the sights that we have been learning about in class.

About Me

I graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama in 2013 with a dual degree in Secondary Education and History. I was a tutor in college for students at my school that were struggling with history, and I worked as a peer tutor and ACT tutor at a local high school and middle school. I'm a certified teacher for social studies 6-12 grades. I am currently teaching high school World History and AP European History. I have also taught World Geography, Economics, Government and American Histor

Experience

I worked with the Spring Hill College Foley Center tutoring at risk youth in middle and high school to encourage them to go to college.
I also tutored students that were placed on the list by history faculty, worked a study hall for freshmen in danger of failing out, and was a peer tutor for the Men's Varsity basketball team.
I am currently teaching, but want to help as many students as possible be ready for high school, college and beyond in their study skills and liberal arts classes.

Approach

I have a positive encouragement approach to tutoring and helping students. Students who leave feeling more confident are more likely to do continue to improve in school.
I don't believe in giving away answers, I want students to learn how to find the answers and then start to challenge themselves to do even better. I have noticed that organization is the key for many students having success in the classroom and I work with students to help themselves get better organized.
