Fun Facts

My fun fact is that I graduate college in three years! I was fortunate enough to attend a college program in high school that allowed me to obtain an associate’s degree while completing my high school diploma! It was an extremely rigorous process but I am so privilege to have this experience. As a Frog Tutor, I hope to provide the support and encouragement I was given to my students.

About Me

I am currently a Career Counselor at Fordham University in New York City. I graduated from Fordham University in 2015 with a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to this, I obtained my Bachelors Degree from Purchase College, SUNY. I am currently pursuing my New York State license as a Mental Health Counselor. My ultimate goal is to continue to use my background in psychology to help children and young adults.

Experience

As a Career Counselor, I have the opportunity to meet with students daily and assist them through their career exploration process. In my work, I primarily use my background in mental health to support students through their emotional and social concerns. Prior to pursuing my Masters, I worked as a camp counselor for a Non-Profit Organization in East Harlem assisting elementary-aged children with their reading, writing and math skills to reduce summer reading loss.

Approach

As a student who benefited from tutoring, I find that I benefited most when my tutors were able to listen and empathize with me. We were able to build a strong bond and when I struggled, they were there for me. Like my own tutors in the past, I hope to provide a safe and encouraging environment for all students of any age or at any level to learn and succeed!
