Fun Facts
One interesting fact about me is that I have a little bit of a musical ear. I play a little piano and have some tunes that I like to play every now and then. I also have learned to play the flute and trumpet during my middle and high school years.
About Me
I am a junior at Morgan State University, majoring in biology. My plans after graduation are to attend medical school, and hopefully will give me a feel of the career interest I want to pursue. I am interested in the following fields: pediatric medicine, veterinary medicine, and being a physicians assistant.
Experience
During the summer of 2013, I was a member of the Parks & People Foundation; an organization of outreach for youth and adolescents that provides them the academic tools and training that they can use to become successful in life. I had the opportunity to be a teacher, and I taught elementary school students grades K-5 subjects such as math, reading, writing, art, science, and history. Working with Frog Tutoring will expand my knowledge of teaching and help me lead students on a path to success.
Approach
In elementary and middle school, I was an outcast. I didn't quite fit in with others, and this kind of took a toll on my academics. When I needed help in certain areas of learning, I was hesitant in reaching out to teachers and to fellow peers for help. I often was teased because I didn't comprehend material as well as other students did. However, in high school, I became more academically active, and I graduated with a 2.8 GPA. With this, I will encourage youth to reach out when in need.
