Fun Facts
One particular hobby that I enjoy is running. I am a freshman on my college's track team and I find it invigorating to push myself to run faster times and longer distances. I also hope to become a physician in seven years and I love Biology and Chemistry.
About Me
I am a freshman in Lehman College who, while currently undeclared, will likely pursue a Biology or a Chemistry major. I have an impressive 3.8 GPA and have earned a spot on the Fall 2016 Dean's List. I plan on attending medical school after graduating college. I also graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, the second best school in NYS, with a relatively high GPA and with an Advanced Regents Diploma after demonstrating mastery (over an 85) on over 9 regents examinations.
Experience
I have babysat various children anywhere from ages 3-14 and have often had to help said children with their homework or tutor them per their own and their parents' request. From this I learned that I must exhibit patience and understand that everyone learns at different paces and in different ways. I also often volunteer at my church, Vineyard International Christian Ministries. I help out in the food pantry every other weekend and assist in facilitating the weekly Sunday service.
Approach
My approach will involve understanding the student's strengths and shortcomings and adapting to them. To be able to do this effectively requires patience and comprehending what the student needs and helping them set goals for themselves. I also feel that I must instill the student with the necessary study skills and habits to succeed in his/her academic career. I value self-growth and improvement and I genuinely adore when a student improves his or her study habits and overall grades.

Biology I Tutoring
During the Fall of 2016 I took "BIO 166 -Principles of Biology: Cells and Genes" at Lehman College. I received an A in the class and an A in the lab. I received a 96 on my final exam.
College Algebra Tutoring
On the NYS Algebra II/Trigonometry Regents exam I earned an 89. In the class I received an 85. Also in college after taking a math placement exam I was placed into Calculus I and didn't have to take Algebra or Precalculus.
English Tutoring
During my Fall 2016 semester at Lehman College I took English Composition I - Principles of Effective Writing. I received an A in the course and my professor has already written me two recommendation letters for internships. The focus of the course was on all aspects of reading and writing, with particular attention to summary, critical responses to short texts, argumentative development in paragraphs and essays, and the rewriting process.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
In all of my high school English courses, reading various works of literature of diverse origins and cultures was imperative. In my senior English class I received a final grade of 95. In this course we reviewed works of literature such as Zora Hurston's "Their Eyes Were Watching God" and Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried".
Study Skills Tutoring
Studying in high school was an extremely important factor to my academic success. I wouldn't have been able to receive my high regents exam grades without employing the appropriate studying techniques. This included repetition, flash cards, visualizing the information in different ways, and etc.

ACT English Tutoring
I took my ACT Test in June during 2015. I received a high composite score of 31. I also received a near perfect score of 35 out the 36 possible points on the English Section.

Regents Tutoring
During high school, I took a total of eleven New York State Regents Examinations. I scored over an 85 on eight of them. I graduated high school with a NYS Advanced Regents Diploma instead of the regular one because of my efforts.
Microsoft Windows Tutoring
I have used Microsoft Windows all my life. I am familiar with multiple versions of Windows (all versions from Windows 98 to Windows 10) and know the ins and outs of the operating system. I use WIndows daily to browse the web, write papers in Word, and communicate with others.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have used Microsoft Word throughout my whole high school career. I understand its importance in writing academic papers and completing assignments. I also know how to abuse its strengths and overcome its shortcomings in order to write the best paper possible.
