I love to travel and speak four languages! I lived in Madrid, Spain for a year and that is where I fell in love with Spanish. Upon returning to the states I continued pursuing my passion and hope to share my knowledge with others.

I finished my M.Ed in World Language Education of Spanish last Spring at DePaul University and have been a teacher in Chicago Public Schools for 6 years. I received a B.A. in Spanish from the urbana-champaign">University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before starting my M.Ed I live in Madrid, Spain.

My experience as a Spanish instructor has given me the classroom management skills and exposure to diverse needs of students that supplements my education at DePaul.I also have experience chicago">tutoring Spanish courses at a University in Evanston to students with disabilities.


I believe in a SECOND language approach and not a FOREIGN language approach to teaching. Learning strategies to utilize a students' primary language to help them learn a second language. Research has shown that sequential language learning facilitates greater overall learning (not just Languages!)
