Fun Facts
I love math and science greatly but I have other interests. When I'm not doing math or physics I find joy in reading all topics of physics. I particularly love reading of ancient civilizations and learning about their rise and fall. Having a well understanding of history I believe instills a worldly wisdom and an ability to better understand the direction we are going as a people.
About Me
I have a BS in physics from California State University, Long Beach. I am currently attending California State University, Los Angeles. I am hoping to obtain an MS degree in physics. I also have taken teacher credential classes at California State University, Fullerton. I eventually want to become a teacher and teach high school physics.
Experience
I began teaching students math and physics as an AVID tutor in Griffith Middle School and Downey High School in Downey California. My task as an AVID tutor was to lead a group of students of about four in tutorial sessions where the students would help one another at answering questions about their homework assignments. Most recent I worked as a math tutor for Gayle Tutorial Services. I tutored subjects from geometry to AP calculus. I prepare for the tutoring sessions by studying.
Approach
Alternatively as considering myself as a math and physics tutor I also view myself as a math and physics coach. That is I help and guide students to gain the knowledge and proficiency necessary to succeed in math physics. I hold the students to high standards and motivate the students to do their best. I feel that a tutor should not simply provide easy answers but help students understand the important concepts of math and physics.
