As a student in washington-dc">Washington DC, I like spending time on the national mall and exploring the city. I love music and playing the piano, and I am also a Cleveland sports fan. In my spare time I like to write, ride my bike, and participate in community service.

About Me

I am a student at The washington-university">George washington-university">Washington University. I am studying political science and human services. My hometown is outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

I have been involved with washington-dc">tutoring for the past several years. While in high school, I spent a year volunteering in a first grade classroom for a hour each day. As a senior in high school I tutored fifth grade students in music. Over the past two years I have worked as a washington-dc">tutor for DC Reads at For Love of Children where I have worked one-on-one with low income elementary aged students who are behind grade level in language and mathematics.

My approach to washington-dc">tutoring is to become a friend to my students so that they feel comfortable telling me when they are struggling or having trouble understanding a concept. I love to design lesson plans with lots of games that help students practice what they are learning, including active games for younger students, and competitive games for older ones. I take a very patient approach to washington-dc">tutoring by being careful not to move ahead of the student's own pace, while also encouraging him to set continually more ambitious goals for himself.
