About Me

I'm a graduate student at Towson University, earning my degree for Speech-Language Pathology. I completed my undergraduate degree at West Virginia University in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I was in the Honors College and obtained my degree in three years as a Presidential Honors Scholar with a 3.94 GPA. My goal is to be a speech-language pathologist in the school system.

Experience

I have experience in a clinical setting for my graduate degree, in which I design and implement session plans to facilitate growth and learning in my clients. I have had experience with reading and language therapy, which is a more advanced form of tutoring. I also was teacher for a college freshman orientation class that required me to create lesson plans to help my students be successful in college. I gave them tools and tips to become effective in the classroom, such as studying strategies.

Approach

My learning was fostered throughout my education by enthusiastic and knowledgeable teachers. I was lucky that significant emphasis was put on becoming effective writers and readers throughout my middle and high school years. As a tutor, I hope to give students the appropriate strategies and encouragement to unlock their full reading and writing potential.
