Fun Facts
I study bats and bat diseases in Texas and Mexico. Although I study bats, and I love bats, my favorite animal is actually the manatee. In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature and attempting to learn ballroom dance moves.
About Me
I'm a research associate and masters student at Texas A&M University. My project investigates the susceptibility of bats in North America to an emerging disease called white-nose syndrome.
Experience
My work in research has given me a lot of experience with science, technical writing, and math. I mentor undergraduates as part of my position at Texas A&M University, and I really enjoy teaching/tutoring.
Approach
I understand how frustrating it can be for a student who is having trouble in a subject that they're just not getting. I believe the best way for a student to grasp a difficult concept is if the subject is made personal for them. Therefore, I like to use examples and stories from the student's everyday life to communicate ideas.
