About Me
I am in my final semester at Arizona State University (online) of the MA program in English. I will graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA and a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. My goal is to earn my PhD in English prior to teaching again.
My approach to tutoring is to use open ended questioning, humor, and items that are of interest to the student. This will make the experience more memorable and easier for the student to not only learn, but enjoy.
Experience
I am certified in the state of Florida to teach English Grades 6-12, as well as having my Gifted Endorsement. I have 6 years teaching English to regular, advanced, and gifted students. I also have experience tutoring students for the English portion of state testing in Florida and can easily transfer this to the state of Hawaii. I will return to teaching once I have completed my PhD program, but until then I am eager to work with students again.
Approach
As I teacher, I have always had a positive and fun approach to learning. I intend to use this same approach for tutoring to make learning easier and more memorable.
