Fun Facts
People are often surprised to hear that I'm really into writing and art since I am a science major. I think both writing and art are a great way to relax and self-reflect in a fun, creative way. I am the second oldest of four kids, but in my opinion, I am basically the oldest in all but age! Some day, I would love to be given the opportunity to learn to play the piano or the viola, both of which I think are absolutely beautiful instruments.
About Me
I am a Biology major at the University of Texas at Dallas, with hopes of continuing my education in medical school. The dream is to be a physician, but I think it's important to take time to experience things that interest me, such as art, teaching, and making the most of the community around me. As for what I've been busy with, I started college a couple years ago and made my way onto the Dean's List in my first semester of college. I am involved in a plethora of leadership activities as well.
Experience
I started tutoring in high school through the National Science Honor Society, and went on to work for a tutoring company for elementary and middle school kids for the rest of high school. I was then hired as a tutor for college and high school students in test prep and AP subjects, before I went on to teach as a science instructor at elementary schools for a year. I am currently employed by my university as a Peer Led Team Learning Leader for other college students in Chemistry.
Approach
I have found that the biggest barrier to learning is placing a finish line for the student. There is never an end to the knowledge you can gain, and you would be surprised by the amount of potential people eager to learn have. I have never given up on a student before, and I don't plan on changing that. There are always different ways to learn something, different ways to approach a problem before the answer clicks, and I believe it is the job of a tutor to find that method for the student.

Biology
Biology I Tutoring
I have taken AP Biology in high school and made a 5 on the exam. I have also taken Biology 1 and Biology 2 at my university and done well. As a Biology major, I feel I am well-qualified to tutor for this subject.
Chemistry I Tutoring
I took AP Chemistry in high school and did well on the exam. I have also taken both Chemistry 1 and Chemistry 2 at my university and am now employed as a tutor to other college students for these subjects. As such, I have a lot of experience tutoring for Chemistry.

I took AP Chemistry in high school and did well on the exam. I have also taken both Chemistry 1 and Chemistry 2 at my university and am now employed as a tutor to other college students for these subjects. As such, I have a lot of experience tutoring for Chemistry.
AP Chemistry Tutoring
I took both PAP and AP Chemistry in high school, both of which I did well in. I also went on to take the AP exam so I have the experience of having been through the AP cycle. As a college student I also have more insight into the subject and the aspects which are most important to be focusing on.
AP English Tutoring
I took both PAP and AP English in high school, both of which I did well in. I also went on to take the AP exam so I have the experience of having been through the AP cycle. I have always been interested in writing and have competed in writing contests, even having had some of my poetry published.
AP History Tutoring
I took both PAP and AP Histories in high school, both of which I did well in. I also went on to take the AP exam so I have the experience of having been through the AP cycle. I have tutored for AP History before and know what common pitfalls are, as well as have insight into aspects to focus on.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I consider Reading Comprehension one of my strongest skills in test taking, as evident by my status as a National Merit Scholar. I feel I am qualified to teach this to others as I have tutored for Reading Comprehension many times before.

As a National Merit Scholar, I feel I am qualified to teach this to others as I have tutored for SAT prep many times before and helped my students achieve their goals every time.
Study Skills Tutoring
Study skills are an extremely important tool for successful students to have, and I have tutored in this aspect before. I am well-versed in many different methods of studying for people of many different learning styles.

Spanish Tutoring
I have taken four years of Spanish, and even took the AP Spanish exam on which I made the highest score of 5. As such, my years of experience with this language have left me semi-fluent and, at the very least, more than capable of aiding others in learning it.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I have been a homework coach to high school students before and have a good idea of what aspects to focus on. I also have extensive experience working with kids as I have been a science instructor at elementary schools previously.
