Fun Facts
In my down time, I like to workout. I used to be an avid runner until I injured my knees so now I am slowly recovering to get back to what I enjoy doing. I love to travel domestically and internationally. I volunteer twice a month at a day shelter for the homeless. I also attend concerts, plays, networking events, and fashion shows.
About Me
I am a degreed Chemical Engineer and Chemist that has my own business as a Wardrobe Stylist, Personal Shopper, and Closet Organizer. I have been tutoring math and science for years; however independently for the past five years. I find it rewarding to educate students in math and science as they take on an appreciation and new perspective to learning.
Experience
In college, I used to work at the Math Lab tutoring individuals in Pre-Algebra, College Math, Algebra, and Pre-Calculus. It was until I graduated with my master's degree that I worked at Mathnasium for two years tutoring students in math and did Chemistry for the high school students, which wasn't done before. This came by request once the students found out my education background. When it comes to tutoring, I like to make the experience enjoyable and relatable.
Approach
Growing up, I was in accelerated classes and struggled when I got to the fifth grade. Although, this dampened my confidence a bit I was able to move forward with the classes that I was involved in and explained to others who had trouble grasping concepts. This sparked my interest in college to become a math tutor. To have the privilege of working with younger children I am able to identify learning gaps, which I can rectify if time permits to improve self-confidence and increase understanding
