Fun Facts
My hobbies include laughing with friends, obsessing over dogs, singing in the shower, and thinking about Game of Thrones. I love to ski, read historical fiction, and try new foods. One day I hope to travel to each of the seven continents.
About Me
I am a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin studying International Relations and Global studies with a focus on International Security and a minor in European Studies. When I graduate, I hope to attend either Columbia or NYU to earn both my JD and Masters in International Affairs. Ultimately, I want to use all the tools I will have gained at the end of my academic career to better my community and the world.
Experience
I have been an honors student since my sophomore year in high school and actively involved in multiple extra-curricular organizations. My senior year I was asked to be a peer advisor to freshmen and served as the chair of the Community Service board. I have always been eager and available to help out my peers because I truly enjoy the process of learning and helping people toward their "aha" moment is extremely gratifying.
Approach
Growing up, I found it frustrating when those I asked for help approached the situation in a condescending manner. My approach as a tutor is centered around being patient and adapting my ways of communicating depending on the needs of the specific student. To me, it is most important that they understand the process rather than just what the right of that specific problem.

I am about to begin the upper division courses required for my concentration in Spanish. I have been speaking the language since I was two years old and am on the bilingual/native speaker track in school. I have received A's in each class and have the support of my professor to pursue this tutoring job.

History is my favorite subject - I have earned an A in every history class I have ever taken and choose to take more than the required classes because I enjoy it so much. I have done homework every night for the past thirteen years or so and have been very good at it. I took music courses all throughout elementary, middle, and high school, participating in a number of choirs and taking singing lessons - all of which required my understanding of basic music theory.
