Fun Facts

One thing that people may not know about me is that I have a huge passion for Indian Classical Dance. I have been learning a type of classical dance, known as Bharathantyam for the past 11 years, and I completed my solo debut performance in 2014. It has provided me with so many opportunities to connect with my Indian heritage.

About Me

I am an incoming sophomore at the George Washington University in Washington DC, but I am originally from right outside of Boston, MA. I am studying Public Health with a minor in International Affairs and one day, I hope to work for the government to implement policies that improve global health.

Experience

All through high school I worked as a math tutor and an early learners (ages 4-7) tutor at the Kumon Learning Center in my hometown. I also volunteered at the afterschool program at the local elementary school, helping kids with homework in various subjects. In college, I am part of the GWTeach program, in which I visit elementary schools in the DC metro area and teach STEM subjects. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the chance to continue helping students succeed!

Approach

As a child, I used to get very frustrated with tough problems because I never fully understood the basics, and sometimes, in school, teachers rush to work on tough problems because of standardized testing. I believe in creating a very strong foundation, before teaching short-cuts or working on harder problems. I have learned that if a student truly understands the basics of a concept, they will be more motivated to try more challenging problems, and they will understand them.
