Fun Facts
One fun fact about myself is that I love to dance! I first started taking tap and jazz dance when I was 6 years old. I continued classes up through college taking such classes as ballroom, African-Primitive dance, ballet, tap, modern, hip-hop, lyrical jazz, and even Irish Jig!
About Me
I am a graduate from San Diego State University with a B. A. in Psychology. I also attended Point Loma Nazarene University and obtained my Education Specialist, Multiple Subjects Credential, and Masters in Teaching (MAT).
Experience
I started tutoring back at my old high school in 1994, running the after-school program. In 1196-1998 I ran a tutoring site at a middle school through Lehigh Valley Summerbridge. I started substitute teaching in 2008 for grades K-12 for all subjects. In 2014, I landed an internship in CVESD as a Resource Specialist. Since then I finished my internship in a self-contained classroom for SPED M/M. Currently, I am an Education Specialist for Crawford High.
Approach
As a teacher who works with students with special needs, I am experienced in providing accommodations and modifications in order to meet each individual student's needs. I believe providing those accommodations along with integrity, honesty, and respect for my learners is necessary in order to gain the respect of my students. Aligning my teaching with the required common core state standards while teaching appropriate study skills is key in promoting lifelong skills necessary to succeed.

I have taught middle school mathematics grades 6-8 for the Chula Vista Elementary School District, one of those school being a "Blue Ribbon" school. I taught basic math, algebra and geometry to mainstreamed middle school students and those in a self-contained classroom. Mathematics is my area of strength when it comes to teaching common core standards; I love math!

I have taught elementary school mathematics for grades 4-6 for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. I taught basic math, algebra and geometry to mainstreamed 6th grade students, basic math to grades K-5, and and basic math to students in a self-contained classroom for grades 4-6. Mathematics is my area of strength when it comes to teaching common core standards. My masters thesis at PLNU was to research whether elementary school teachers felt having an Elementary Mathematics Specialist on campus can promote more proficient learners in math. I love math!

Teaching for the Chula Vista Elementary School District required me to be familiar with and teach Common Core Science Standards for grades 2-8. However, I have more experience in teaching science to grades 4-6.
