About Me
I am a Sacramento native and have lived here in Sacramento my entire life. I went to UC Davis to attain my bachelor's degree in English and also did a minor in Education. I am now currently attending CSU Sacramento and am a part of their teaching credential program. I am going to be receiving a Multiple Subject credential, which means that I will be able to teach elementary school grades.
I have volunteered in a third grade classroom for two years at an elementary school near me. I helped in sacramento">tutoring the students in the classes with things they needed help with. Most of the time I helped students who had trouble in math.
I usually had a small group of students in the back of the classroom (maybe 2-3 students) in order to sacramento">tutor, so that way they were not placed on the spot on their own and they had someone to talk out a problem with. I usually explained what we were going to be going over before giving out examples for them to do. I also went over an example or two before giving the students examples to go over on their own. If one of the students seemed to get the subject really well after only a few examples, I asked them if they needed any more examples, and if they said they didn't, I let them go back to his or her seat. For those students who really needed extra examples, I kept them at the back table longer to make sure that they got it.
