Fun Facts
I have a ridiculous laugh that I get made fun of for a lot but apparently it makes other people laugh. I also love soccer and baking and meeting new people! The first few days of a new semester are always my favorite because there are so many new people to meet.
About Me
I am outgoing and like making people feel comfortable, especially if I can tell that they're feeling anxious and insecure. I love working with students in elementary and middle school especially but also in high school. I'm also generally able to make friends with a wide range of people coming from diverse backgrounds and I love kids!
In high school I volunteered twice a week for a few months as a math tutor at a local middle school. Besides that, I've had a lot of experience as a mentor for children and young adults ages 6 to 16. I was a nanny for a six and ten year old for more than a year which involved a lot of homework assistance, have been a soccer coach/buddy for children with special needs since I was nine, and actively participate in mentoring the younger girls in my church weekly.
I believe that people can learn the best when they are confident and not stressed out, so I will work hard to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. Organization is an essential part if this so aiding people with study strategies is important. I also believe that people learn best through application so that they can practice manipulating the information, not just regurgitating what they've been taught, Therefore I use a lot of practice problems and short essays.
