Hi! As a fairly active person I have a number of hobbies including tennis, kendo, and cycling. I also have played the cello since a young age! I'm from Maryland, born and raised, and my favorite sports teams are the maryland/baltimore">Baltimore Ravens and Washington Wizards. I am conversationally fluent in Mandarin (in addition to English) and visit Asia quite often as my parents live there! My career goal is to be a physician; some other aspirations include learning to ballroom dance and going skydiving.

About Me

I graduated in 2012 from UCLA with a B.S. in Biochemistry. I have 5 years of experience in healthcare and clinical research and worked the past year as a clinical research coordinator for the UCLA Division of Nephrology. I have great interest in community health and providing resources for underserved and homeless populations.

I have experience as a Kumon instructor and private tutor during high school, from 9th grade through 11th grade. Most of my background as an educator comes from my experience in health education working with patients as both a social advocate and a clinical research coordinator.

I believe in a less structured approach to teaching that is adaptable to the strengths and weaknesses of each student; not only in their learning habits but also in how they approach and conceptualize concepts. My lesson plans emphasize one idea at a time and then bringing it all together to test multiple concepts in the same problem to ensure both understanding and the ability to apply that knowledge to university and standardized (MCAT, GRE, etc.) level testing.
