Fun Facts
I volunteer with an organization called The Dream Center, where I tutor at-risk kids with English, writing, career options, and college applications.
Cooking and baking are some of my favorite pastimes. I also love to run!
About Me
My name is Cynthia and I am 23 years old. I recently graduated from UCLA with Bachelor's in English and Global Studies. I'm excited to put my abilities and talents into use for the betterment of the students I tutor. I believe individual needs to be challenged in order to grow and thrive.
It is my goal to create in every student an independent thinker and to allow them to discover their true learning identity at their own pace.
I have been an English and writing composition for more than 4 years now. Where I instruct and guide college students of all academic levels in structural writing, critical thinking, mechanical grammar, and active reading. I also coach in verbal and written skills through creative questioning. Challenging students to derive their own opinions and concepts while guiding them towards the right direction is key. I also believe encouraging and acknowledging progress in a student's work enhances their overall learning process.

Approach
One of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein states, "“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Every age and every mind takes a different approach to learning, thus, every student is completely distinct.
