I love traveling and have been to over 40 countries in the past ten years. I enjoy music of all kinds. I never trained professionally but people say I have a good eye for photography. Landscape photography is my particular interest and I would love to do it as a career someday.

About Me

I enjoy working hard and being committed to something I am passionate about. I've been dedicated to my education for a large portion of my life. I spent four years as an undergraduate and eight years in graduate school to obtain my masters and PhD degrees.

I was a sacramento">tutor for college students for math, science and writing when I was an undergraduate. I also tutored high school students after I graduated from college. I also have teaching experience in secondary education and at the college level.

In my teaching experience, I have learned that students learn best and are most motivated when they are able to connect what they learn in the classroom with their lived experiences. I have taught and mentored several students who have advanced to academic careers, law school, community organizing and non-profit work. I believe classroom learning should help students connect with and deepen their understanding of their lived experiences. This is my sacramento">tutoring and mentoring approach to student learning.
