About Me
As a fourth-year student at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA), pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Rehabilitation Engineering, I have set forth academic and personal goals to make a positive change. I highly believe that my Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree will positively impact me by utilizing my STEM degree to help empower others. I plan to continue serving my community, Boyle Heights because I want to positively impact my community with my education. Boyle Heights is highly recognized for high percentage of high school dropout rates and immense gangs and clandestine related activities. Thus, with the essence of my STEM degree, I can inspire students to pursue higher education in some of the most challenging fields of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. In today’s world, new technologies keep advancing every single day to help our daily needs and make the world a better place. With my specialty as a rehabilitation engineer and mechanical engineer I plan to make a significant difference in Boyle Heights and other low-income communities, by helping people with special disabilities have a better life style.
For the past four summers I have worked as a math facilitator at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). I motivated a group of college freshman to improve their skills in College Algebra & calculus/california/los-angeles">Pre Calculus and made sure they pass these two different exit exams within seven weeks, in order for them to start with calculus their first year at CSULA
As a tutor, i want to make sure i facilitate the student at all times. Have them keep asking many question about a certain subject that they do not comprehend. Working in groups and asking each other for help can trigger them to get comfortable asking questions and learning with others.
