Fun Facts
I'm a crazy cat lady! I have 3 cats of my own. I enjoy playing with them and watching funny cat videos. I have a HUGE collection of items from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. This was my favorite movie as a child (and still is). I LOVE being outside! I enjoy hiking in the mountains nearby my house.
About Me
I have been a licensed elementary school teacher for the last six years. Teaching everything from preschool to middle school. I attended Utah State to get dual Bachelors in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education graduating in 2011.
Experience
During my years of teaching, I have always done private and group tutoring before and after school as well. I have experience creating tutoring programs of all kinds for individual students up to a small group. I have tutored ages preschool through 10th grade in the past in all different subjects and skills.
Approach
I was easily bored as a child in school. Despite being intelligent, I didn't often pay attention in school and often got in trouble for my behavior. When I became a teacher, I knew it was my mission to make my lessons engaging enough that students would want to pay attention and learn more.
It is my goal as a tutor to personalize each lesson to match the child, curriculum, and content. I want to make each lesson something the child wants to participate in and learn more about.

Algebra Tutoring
Middle school math is when students seem to really start to struggle. I have experience both teaching these math classes and tutoring students in these classes. As the difficulty increases, you often see students lose confidence in their math skills and their grades dropping. Many students need additional support to gain back their confidence and develop the math skills to help them be successful.
Arts Tutoring
I consider myself an artist and love to help other students develop their skills in this area. One of my favorite hobbies is acrylic painting.
English Tutoring
Reading Comprehension is one of my specialties. I have been inhaling books since I learned to read at three. I love to pass on skills that will help others not only understand what they are reading more but enjoy it more too.
I have taken many classes in college on reading instruction. Since then I have been to many conferences and trainings to improve my reading instruction.
I am confident tutoring students in reading comprehension at any age or level.

Elementary Math Tutoring
I have taught elementary school math for the last six years. Prior to that, I got my BS in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. During these years, I took many classes on how to teach math to students. Since that time, I have continued to attend trainings and conferences to improve my math teaching abilities.
Social Studies Tutoring
In high school, I took as many AP classes as possible. The History AP classes I took were World History, US History, US Government, and Comparative Government. I passed all of these AP tests. In college, my emphasis was Social Studies.
Since college, I have taught social studies to students kindergarten through middle school. I have tutored students kindergarten through high school.
ACT English Tutoring
I have always loved reading and writing. In high school, I took both AP English Language and AP English Literature. Passing both tests with a 4.
In college, I continued to take writing classes, including classes on how to teach writing.
As an adult, I have taught English to students pre-K through sixth grade. I have tutored students pre-K through college in English.
