Fun Facts
During high school and college, I loved & was devoted to Ballet Folklorico. I learned much about my culture but also learned a lot about self-discipline. Throughout my high school career, I graduated with honors and more than a 700 hours of volunteering. During college, I became fascinated with science and all the questions that are still unanswered. To dive into some of the questions that I had, for 3 years, I was a research assistant in a proteomics lab.
About Me
I recently graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Spanish. I was a research assistant in an environmental proteomic labs that was investigating how marine organisms are responding to climate change. The challenge and learning aspect of research made me realize how passionate I am about research & will pursue a Masters in Biological Sciences in stem cell research this fall at SFSU.
Experience
During high school, I was one of the math tutors in the math club. I tutored pre-algebra to pre-calculus. Furthermore, I was a teaching assistant for a math class of english learning students. In spanish, I aided them with algebra, recording their scores to see if they were improving. Lastly, in college, I aided middle school and elementary students to learn about marine biology and physics with utilizing hands on learning materials.
Approach
As student, I learned that study methods differ by individual and even by subject. As a tutor, I thrive not only to aid students to understand a subject better, but to create study methods that can work for them in the future. Personally, I like to keep track of their progress and look at the questions that they do not understand to reinforce those topics more in the following tutoring sessions. I like to make a friendly learning environment & try to intergrate things they like into my teaching.

I did many powerpoints in college and have become familiar to the different uses of it.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have done most of my assignments on microsoft word so I know how to do most of the basic things for an essay. I also worked as a front desk where I had to do some creative posters.
