I am a sports fanatic! I love to play and watch all types of sports and have coached many different kinds and levels. I'm a history/current event geek. My favorite colors are all the different shades of blue because they remind me of the ocean.

About Me

I am a middle school history and geography teacher at a prestigious, private Silicon Valley school.

Experience

I have a BA in communications and marketing from CSU, Chico. For almost 20 years I have helped different types of individuals improve in some facet of their life through coaching, teaching and tutoring. I have taught all levels of swimming (6 moths-adult), coaching and lifeguard training. I have experience teaching all grade levels (K-12). I have tutored small group classes for SAT/ACT prep. In addition, I have helped high school students edit and improve their college admission essays

Approach

My approach is to always ask questions. To lead my students to discover on their own. I feel it allows the student to feel value in achievement and really solidify the information. Targeted, pin-pointed questions, many types of examples and positive encouragement as they start to unravel the answer/concept. When students discover for themselves it boosts their confidence and makes learning more fun!
