About Me
I'm am a Sophomore at Drexel studying biomedical engineering. I love learning and experiencing new things as well as challenging myself which is one of the reasons I chose to study biomedical engineering. The other reason is because I've struggled with health issues all my life and BIOMED is an opportunity to help people who have struggled with some of the same issues. Already, I've had the opportunity to do meaningful research through Drexel's Undergraduate research program, and I hope to continue doing research once I graduate with my Master's in 2017.
I student taught and peer tutored in high school working with students in Trigonometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-algebra, and Chemistry as part of my senior project. At Drexel, I've had the opportunity to peer philadelphia">tutor in Chemistry 1 and 2 and Linear Engineering Systems. Additionally, I've worked with students taking Intermediate Algebra at a local community college over the summer. I have the ability to understand math in a way most people don't; philadelphia">tutoring is a way to share that with others and help them excel through it which is awesome!
I was home-schooled until I started high school and didn't have the best grades at first. Once I started high school, I realized how much I love learning and understanding new things. I think that's the way it is for a lot of people only most never get the chance to discover a love of learning. I try to help students discover that love by relating what they are having trouble with to things they already understand and making it relevant to real life. Information is much more fulfilling when you are learning concepts and ideas rather than memorizing rules and facts.
