Fun Facts
Growing up I was always outside. I loved going camping with my family every year. I played Soccer and did gymnastics growing up. I ran cross country in high school. In college, I loved playing ultimate frisbee, hiking and just being in the outdoors. I also love to dance. In college, every Monday and Wednesday night I would go country swing dancing. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher and I am finally making that dream come true.
About Me
I graduated magna cum laude with my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics Education in May of 2012 from Utah State University. I am currently a graduate student at Utah State in Mathematics. Once I complete my Master's degree, I plan on continuing on to get my Ph.D. in Mathematics. I want to use this to help improve mathematics education. I have a 5 year old little girl who is my whole life. When I am not in school, I love spending time with her and being her mom.
Experience
I have done private tutoring in mathematics and statistics tutoring students from elementary to college age since 2009. I have taught 4 years of Junior high and High school mathematics. I have also been an adjunct instructor/teaching assistant at Utah State University since 2015. I have tutored students in office hours, after school, and through the Student Support Services office at Utah State. I love mathematics and I love sharing and teaching students about mathematic
Approach
I believe any student can learn mathematics. I help facilitate student learning through guidance and instruction. Allowing students to begin to discover and learn to do mathematics on their own. I also help students to see why mathematics and problem solving is important in their life. I feel that I should teach students to do mathematics as well as how to be successful in anything they do. I believe that finding what motivates a student will make all the difference in their desire to learn.
