Fun Facts
A passion of mine is cooking and exploring nature. Growing up, I had few opportunities to see the world or try new things that would challenge me.
I am also into music writing, and have been playing guitar and drums for 5+ years.
About Me
I am a senior Biochemistry major at Seattle Pacific University. After graduation, I intend to apply for medical school to earn an MD, and specialize in Cardiothoracic Surgery. My ultimate goal is to become a surgeon with my own private practice and serve under-represented populations.
Experience
My primary experience is simply helping others via study tables, and by working at the local hospital. Working in this setting has shown me how important it is to discuss with your patients how specific procedures, testing, or medication, may effect them in the long-term. Because of this exposure, I was able to tune my own ways of thinking and how different people require different methods for them to understand the world around them.
Approach
Growing up, I had few people around me to help challenge my ways of thinking, which made it incredibly difficult to find proper study techniques. However, after I went to college and found a group of people who were willing to work with me and bring a diverse opinion or method to my work methods, it allowed me to see the importance of tutors and how they can change the way you think. Because of this, I base my model of approach on Growth over Proficiency.

Biochemistry Tutoring
My major at SPU is in Biochemistry. I have taken Biochemistry I-III and have received my highest grade of a B+ in Biochemistry III. For this class, the primary focus was medical driven, so many questions on exams reflected a more critical thinking approach on how to solve certain disorders.

Religion Tutoring
Since my school is a private Christian University, the curriculum requires an extensive series known as UFDN. This series of three classes has us look at the Bible in varying degrees of detail and have us discuss the moral implications that come from both the Old and New Testament.
Science Tutoring
Because of my major at SPU and the electives I have taken, the physical sciences that are prominent in middle schools is common knowledge for most classes that I took, and have also allowed me to come up with several ideas for projects that middle schoolers would find fascinating and educational.
Arts Tutoring
Throughout high school, I was in several plays and was in band. While I'm not much of a regular artist, I have much experience in performing arts. This allowed me to work with multiple individuals who all have diverse backgrounds in the way they think and perform.
Social Studies Tutoring
Through elementary school, Social Studies was always my favorite subject. While it isn't my field of study in college, I have a fascination with Anthropology and Political Sciences. To see how the world changes around you is an important skill to have and is one that is often over-shadowed by many people. By working with children in this area, I want to see the drive that inspires children to learn about new cultures, ideologies, and how it effects them today.
Drums Tutoring
I studied drums under my high school's band. I was in band for a total of 4 years and specialized in snare and quads. While we were a newer school, in the first 3 years of the band being made, we had already won multiple competitions for "Best Percussion" and "Overall Performance"
Guitar Tutoring
I am self-taught on guitar, but have been playing for multiple years. I first gained an interest in 7th grade and continue to play today. My range of music includes Jazz, Classical, Metal (mainly old school), and pop.
