About Me
I am a teacher with experience teaching a variety of subjects. I spent the past two years in a leadership role and really valued the extra responsibilities. I am originally from the second smallest state in the country (Delaware). I have a masters degree in teaching and a masters degree in educational policy and leadership from THE Ohio State University -- go Buckeyes!
Experience
I have been teaching for nearly a decade and am certified to teach grades 7-12 in Pennsylvania (though I feel comfortable teaching elementary and college students). I really enjoy tutoring because it allows me to individualize instruction and more easily pinpoint the needs of the student. Tutoring can also offer great opportunities to collaborate with parents and their children in order to facilitate better learning outcomes.
Approach
I believe that every child is educable. Too often, teachers give up on students due to either behavioral or academic challenges. To be a good instructor requires me to understand the learning style(s) that work best for my student(s), and to apply my expertise in a way that is in harmony with the learning style(s).
