Fun Facts
I happen to be a very active individual, one who never stays idle, well except when I am resting. I have a passion for any thing Art and Craft, I love creating beautiful things and so I am a part of an event planning, creations and decorative team. We aim to bring peoples imaginations to beautiful realities. I also love to cook, sing as well as dance. I was once part of a dance crew, taking part in various competitions. In terms of sports, I am a good soccer, badminton and table tennis player.
About Me
I am an academically sound, consistent, highly committed & dedicated researcher / educator with great interest in various areas of Life sciences. I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Ph.D in Environmental Toxicology. I have a BSc & MSc in Biotechnology, & a Post Grad Diploma in Business Admin. My college experience helped me in maintaining an active and focused life. I would love to develop a platform for mentoring and training the younger generation, preparing them for the future.
Experience
I am an Adjunct Faculty in the Dept. of Biology at Lone Star College where I teach general Biology, Human A&P, Environmental Sciences. In the past I worked in the Department of Biology & Chemistry as an Independent Teaching assistant at TSU. I taught Human A&P to students of Pre-med, Pre-Pharm, Pre-nursing & other health tracks, and also general chemistry. I was a Faculty Tutor at Houston Community College tutoring biology related subject. I have been teaching/educating/tutoring for about 9 Yrs.
Approach
I personally believe that every individual has an element of greatness within. But to actualize that greatness work is required. I aim to develop each students critical thinking ability by individualizing & personalizing their learning experience. Introducing an active learning environment is key in education today. I also make use of current technological teaching techniques in addition to the traditional teaching methods in impacting knowledge. I believe in constant encouragement & support.
