When I have a bit of free time, I enjoy sailing, listening to music, reading a good book and thinking about going to the gym. In the past year I've traveled extensively, having spent over 5 months in Europe visiting Spain, Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Germany, Holland, and the U.K.

About Me

I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but I attended college in Southern California. I am a proud graduate of pomona-college">Pomona College and strongly believe in the liberal arts tradition.

I tutored regularly during my four years at pomona-college">Pomona College. Subjects tutored include Algebra I & II, Intro to English Composition, Intermediate Spanish, and Macroeconomics. My clientele were diverse, ranging from adults taking college courses to high school students enrolled in private institutions.

In short, my memphis">tutoring approach revolves around student-led learning and the Socratic method. memphis">Tutors can obviously provide the answers and help the student earn good grades on homework and papers. However, memphis">tutors don't ultimately take the student's tests, midterms, and quizzes. Thus, the student must be capable of fully understanding the material. This is only possible by giving the student the building blocks to help them arrive at the answer of overall concept. I will never leave a student hanging, but I will make them work for the answer.
