About Me
My name is Zara McKenna and I am currently a student at Lone Star College Cy-Fair. I will be applying for the nursing program at the University of Texas soon. I have a BSc in biology from Dalhousie University in Canada.
My previous experience teaching includes working as a teacher assistant for several field biology courses at the Dalhousie University. I also houston">tutor fellow classmates in Anatomy and Physiology. As I am confident in the subject matter, I hold free houston">tutoring sessions before our Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab exams in order to ensure that other students understand the material.
I believe the best way to teach students is reinforcement of concepts until they are well learned. I learn best when I break complex concepts down into simpler ones and believe this can be an effective learning method for other students. I also use diagrams and pictures when I teach because many students are visual learners.
