Fun Facts
After working in an academic setting the past 8 years, and settling my youngest child into college, I am looking forward to supporting and encouraging others reach their academic potential.
About Me
I have been a part of education for most of my life. As a college educated life long learner myself, raising children and preparing them for college, working in an academic setting supporting students, and tutoring. I found that encouraging others to learn is one of my life's passions. I have a BA in Communications and have specialized training in working with students with learning differences. Including, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other processing disorders.
Experience
I have 8 years of working 1:1 and in small group instruction in an academic environment supporting students with learning differences from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have worked extensively with students who have IEP's and or require a slower more individualized style of learning.
Approach
I am a firm believer that supporting students through positive encouragement and reinforcement, breaking down tasks/assignments, and helping them establish executive functioning (organizational) skills can have a strong impact in the confidence and ability to navigate their academic sucess.
