Fun Facts
A big part of my life is traveling! I love seeing new places and learning about new cultures. I have been fortunate enough to have visited Thailand, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and Iceland. I have also traveled across the US including working in Denali National Park Alaska for the past two summers. My goal is to visit at least every continent.
About Me
I am a Senior and Public Health Major at portland-state-university">Portland State University. After graduating I hope to attend the washington">University of Washington to receive a Masters in Occupational Therapy. My ultimate career goal is to work with veteran as an occupational therapist.
As a member of Mathletes in high school I tutored peers in all levels of math. My first year of college I tutored elementary school students in math and reading-comprehension/oregon/portland">reading comprehension in order to improve their standardized test scores. As the second oldest in my family I have also had plenty of experience assisting my younger sisters with all homework subjects.
I understand that not every student learns the same. I like to find out what subjects a student likes best, and figure out a way to make learning fun by taking into account how a student learns. I also know that having difficulty in school can lead to students giving up, so I do my best to provide encouragement and reassurance to students while portland">tutoring. I ultimately hope to help students improve in all subjects and learn study and organizational skills that they can utilize throughout their academic career.
