Fun Facts
For the past year, I have taken improv comedy classes and have joined improv troupes. I love doing it! I find it rewarding on a personal level, and it also has helped me professionally. I recently joined a tennis league after a 10 year hiatus.
About Me
I am currently employed as a Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton. I graduated from Oberlin College with a major in Mathematics and a minor in science/maryland/baltimore">Computer Science. I received my Master's Degree in Operations Research from Ohio State University.
Experience
I had the opportunity at Oberlin College to tutor students weekly. I spent one semester leading optional study sessions for a particular math course (Discrete Mathematics). The next semester, I spent 5-10 hours tutoring math overall. I also spent all 4 semesters of graduate school as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. I held Office Hours, led recitation sessions, and graded all papers for the course.
Approach
I believe that teaching is more than just teaching the subject material. I feel that the main goal is to teach critical thinking skills and to teach how to approach problems. I was fortunate to encounter this type of education at Oberlin College. As a tutor, I believe in this mentality. My goal is to help students how to learn effectively.
