Fun Facts
I have had a passion for art since I was in the sixth grade. I admire the work of Glen Keane so much that I once wanted to become an animator at Disney so that I could learn from him. I played softball practically my whole life, but switched to play rugby while in college. I love hiking in the woods and mountain air.
About Me
I just graduated from Juniata College in May, 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I also minored in Spanish, Psychology, and Studio Art. I made the Dean's List every semester, and graduated with a GPA of 3.8. I was a member of the National Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa, a Leadership Honor Society. Currently, I work as a Medical Assistant for two brilliant neurosurgeons, and am applying to medical school.
Experience
I first started tutoring underclassmen in math as a senior in high school. When I entered college, I worked for the Community Service Office and tutored students at a local high school in all subjects. I also tutored my peers in classes that I did well in. This includes several psychology classes, a few math classes, and several biology courses. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for three different biology classes during my final two years.
Approach
Oddly enough, I really enjoy learning and discovery. I understand that not everybody learns the same way, and the techniques that are helpful for me may not benefit another student. That's why I take the time to learn what approaches the student has tried in the past, and try to figure out a method that works for them. I always try to work through problems with the student, so they can discover the answers on their own.
