Fun Facts

I love travel and adventure! I just got back from studying abroad in New Zealand where I got to go bungee jumping and skydiving. It was the scariest but best experience of my life! I love the outdoors and going hiking and horseback riding. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love animals and I have a yellow Labrador retriever named Keno, who I adore.

About Me

I am a 4th year Biology major at UCLA. I aspire to work in conservation of wildlife and protecting our ecosystems after I graduate. I love working with kids and helping others!
Here at UCLA I have been lucky enough to volunteer with a club on campus and tutor kids in downtown Los Angeles. The kids we tutored were in elementary school and we helped them with their general classes after school. This was a great experience that I really enjoyed. I have also had a lot of experience helping my brother who is two years younger than me with his classes because I had taken the same courses as him a few years before.
As a tutor I believe it is best to cater my strategy to the student, depending on how they learn best– whether this be mainly through written or oral explanations. One method that I had found extremely helpful in my experience is to create organized study guides that outline the material in a concise manner. These are useful not only when learning the material but also when reviewing and studying before an exam.
As a mentor, I want to inspire and encourage my students to succeed not only in their classes but in everything they pursue in life. I believe it is important to have faith and confidence in my student’s abilities and by channeling this confidence to them they will be more inclined to believe in themselves and reach their full potential.
