Fun Facts
I am Jennifer Fonseca. I was born in NY and raise in Brazil until the age of 18. I then moved to Miami to continue my education and fell in love with Spanish. I have always loved languages and I was fortunate to be raised speaking both, English and Portuguese. When Spanish came around I wasted no time in learning and actually pursuing degree on the Language itself. I often find that not every one has the same love or facility to learn a new language.
About Me
I started tutoring languages shortly after moving to Miami from Brazil about seven years ago. At first tutoring and teaching was something I never thought about. Then a friend asked me to help her with our ESL classes who later on asked me to teach her Spanish and actually paid me by the hour. Once I had been teaching her for a while, "word of mouth" made the number of students go up from one to many. From Portuguese, to English and Spanish, I have enjoyed tutoring many students from as young as 12 years old, to adults who wanted to use the language to work, pleasure or travel.
Experience
Besides having been tutoring individually for the past few years, I am also a ESL teacher at Borealis Language Academy.
Approach
I have a passion for languages; therefore, what better than help others find the passion in language like I do and soothe them into the new journey. I work with want the student wants to learn and according to what he/her wants it for. Different lessons will be given according to their level and overall knowledge of the desired language.

ESL Tutoring
Desired to provide provide the students who have limited knowledge of English to improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
Portuguese Tutoring
Desired to provide the students who have limited knowledge of Portuguese to improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
Spanish I Tutoring
Desired to provide the students who were introduced to basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary during High School. Students will continue to grow in
grammar and vocabulary, though Spanish speaking will be particularly emphasized.
This course is ideal for students who are interested in the language and are encouraged by the
prospect of becoming somewhat fluent in Spanish.
Spanish II Tutoring
Desire to continue to further expanding the student's knowledge of vocabulary, topics and grammar. Students begin to comprehend listening and reading passages more, and they start to express themselves more meaningfully in both speaking and writing. There is an emphasis on conversational prompts, cultural analysis (practices, products, and perspectives of various Spanish-speaking countries).
Spanish III Tutoring
Desired to teach most of the tenses used in the Spanish language. It has a strong focus on conversational fluency as well as improving reading comprehension and listening skills. Students will be required to speak Spanish on a daily basis.
