Fun Facts
I'm a theatre director/actor based in washington/seattle">Seattle. While studying drama at the washington">University of Washington, I directed two full-length productions, Urinetown: The Musical and Machinal. This holiday season I will be serving as the directing intern on the 5th Avenue Theatre's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.
When not doing theatre, I love to go running, enjoy playing guitar, spending time in the outdoors (I'm an Eagle Scout) or have my nose in a book. I read largely classic literature, but every once in a while I love to take a break and read some fantasy. (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Wheel of Time, etc).
About Me
I just graduated from the washington">University of Washington Honors Program last Spring with a double major in Drama and Comparative Literature. Since then, I've been working as a member of the MOViN 92.5 promotions team and pursuing theatre in my free time.
Studying Comparative Literature at the washington">University of Washington has allowed me to become an excellent writer and develop my ability to washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor. Succeeding in this field requires excellent text analysis and the creativity to compare authors and books in ways other readers had never considered. I’m confident that I can tailor my washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring to develop a particular writer’s strengths while simultaneously addressing their weaknesses.
Though I have had significant experience as a writer, I feel that my time working as a director in the theatre has allowed me to develop a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring philosophy for studies outside the writing discipline. As a director, you quickly learn that each student is different and while one method may work well for one student, it may fall flat on its face for the next. I’ve learned that when working with a pupil, I must alter my style so that I can get the best results out of each individual. I also believe there are few tasks that hone one’s time management skills more than directing a play. I would love to impart the time management skills I have acquired in hopes that students can develop their own system that achieves excellence in their studies.
