Fun Facts
One of the best decisions of my life thus far was studying in Florence, Italy my senior year of college. It was amazing to learn so much about myself and many cultures around Europe and Africa. I also played the cymbals on my high school and college drumlines. It was so much fun!
About Me
I am currently a leveling student at University of North Texas. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Psychology but after some soul searching decided to pursue Speech Language Pathology. I'm taking a few prerequisites at UNT so I can get my Masters Degree in Communication Disorders and become a licensed SLP. I hope to work with kids and could not be more excited!
I have had the pleasure of dallas">tutoring in a multitude of capacities. I spent a lot of time dallas">tutoring the kids at HOPE Farm on their math and English homework after school. I also worked with kids of Safe City in an after school program. The bulk of my experience, however, lies with my work with a youth group in Houston. I spent three summers as the youth intern and one semester as the director for the middle and high school students there. While my title wasn't "dallas">tutor," I spent countless hours planning lessons and helping them grasp concepts of life and religion. I also helped with homework and college essays along the way.
My approach to dallas">tutoring is first and foremost skill-driven. Of course I want the student to succeed on any particular homework assignment, but my primary purpose is to empower them with the tools to succeed throughout their academic life. Learning is fun and it never stops. I want my students to develop a passion for it. I also know the feeling of self-doubt that can plague a student's mind and I endeavor to be approachable so that all questions will be asked and answered. My goal is to empower my students to give their academic best and to encourage them to never stop.
