Fun Facts
I consider myself a computer savvy person with a passion to learn about other cultures. I love all aspects of culture: food, tradition, history, and language. Perhaps, it is the reason why I love to travel! I have traveled throughout the nation and Europe. I am intrigued with languages and hope to learn at least 5; currently I speak English, Spanish , and French.
About Me
I am a senior Spanish major at Sacramento State University. Before I was a college student, I was a Network Administrator in the Army Reserves. I look forward to studying abroad to earn my Masters in Translation and Interpretation. Ultimately, I would like to work as an interpreter/ translator for the United Nations.
In the Army I was asked to write-up training manuals and train new personnel on network administration. In college I became the unofficial study group leader ,after being asked by several classmates for help. I was later asked to officially sacramento">tutor in the Foreign Language Department at Sacramento State University.
In my experience as a sacramento">tutor, I have found that most of the time students who have difficulties learning a subject is due to the method its being taught; they "don't get it." I strive to teach in the students point of view, so that they do get it. Each person learns differently, that is why I attempt using different teaching methods other then what is being used in class. I encourage students to ask questions and praise them for their effort. Showing students how to use their resources to find answers is a skill that I find essential to their success.
