Fun Facts
While I do love math, I love the outdoors even more. I have gone camping all throughout the west coast and plan on making it out to the east coast this summer. I come from a family of five, I am the middle child, and I love to spend time with my family when my schedule allows it.
About Me
I am a junior Math major at San Diego State University. I have made the Dean's list the past two semesters. I hope to earn a PhD in either Math or Physics. I love to teach and hope to one day become a professor.
Experience
In High School I was part of the peer mentor program to my old elementary school where I served as an after school tutor once every other week to any student who needed help. Now in college I am a part of a volunteer organization where I tutor refugees in all subject ranging from English to Math.
Approach
I have noticed my entire academic career that most teachers are satisfied with showing students a formula and never explaining how it works. It seems to me that they are not teaching you anything, rather they are telling you to memorize some formula instead of explaining how it works. Once you realize why something works there is no need to memorize a formula. After a session with me a student will not only do better on their tests, they will also leave more intelligent than when they showed up.
