About Me
My name is Brenda Garcia. I am currently a second year master's student in economics at Duke University. My current GPA is 3.67. As well, I am a research assistant for the economics department, where I help with projects on trailer park economics.
I acquire extensive raleigh">tutoring experience. My previous work experience consists of positions as an elementary school raleigh">tutor and as a private raleigh">tutor. I have worked with students from seven years old to twenty years old. I have tutored in a wide range of subjects, but I usually specialize in mathematics. I enjoy to help students throughout the learning process.
During elementary school, I struggled with the subject of mathematics. Fortunately, in middle school I had an inspiring math teacher that showed me the fun in math with a patient and positive approach. As a raleigh">tutor, I believe that all of my students have great potential. When working with my students, I take on an encouraging and patient teaching style, where I explain and guide students to understand new concepts. Instead of just giving away homework answers, I help my students find the answers on their own by asking questions, giving feedback, and explaining concepts. This will allow them to develop strong study skills that will be useful throughout their educational career.
