Fun Facts
Some of my most favorite activities include playing, acting out scenes, dictating and narrating lines.I also enjoy watching Pokémon, Power Rangers, Mega Man, Kirby, The Simpsons, and Yu-Gi-Oh! I also enjoy going to the gym on a regular daily basis to stay fit & healthy, and to keep up my strength.
About Me
I graduated from SJSU in 2006 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies (Emphasis in Teaching). Following graduation from SJSU I volunteered my time as a teacher’s aide at my local church, where they have a pre-school year around. In October 2007 I started working with Fry’s Electronics as an Advertising Associate. From March 2010 until August of 2017, I worked in the Mail Room where I helped to sort and deliver.
Experience
While in high school, I volunteered my time as a teacher's aide at St. John Vianney Catholic School. I would engage in fun games with the students to help them enjoy learning practices. I have also volunteered my time at Sacred Heart, where I helped underprivileged students with their math homework.
During college and since I have worked with numerous students needing assistance with math and homework coaching.
Approach
As a child (but only discovered in April 2009), I was classified to have Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified. While in junior high & high school, I had the support and encouragement of my teachers who helped me overcome these obstacles. As a tutor, while guiding students through a step-by-step solving process, I also enjoy bringing my enthusiasm & helping students engage in other games and activities that they can use outside the tutoring session as they grow and learn.

Math Tutoring
Intermediate Algebra - A
Math For Elementary Teaching - A
Although I took both of these classes at West Valley College, they were in different years. In both classes, I exceled very quickly & because of my love for mathematics, I always got ahead in my math homework & understood the material very quickly.
Within a year after teaching Algebra, I was a drop-in Math Tutor at West Valley College, & at that time, any student who needed help w/ their Algebra Homework, I would take the time to explain to each student of how to solve the problem. In the later years, w/ the most recent about 2 or 3 years ago before the family moved to Tracy. I explained to each student of how to solve the math problem correctly through a step-by-step process. In between my explanations, I would also give students the opportunity to solve a few math problems on their own, & then I would review each math problem to make sure that it was solved correctly & that the correct steps were taken to solve the problem.
Likewise w/ Math for Elementary Teaching, for students who were in Elementary School, especially the most recent where the youngest in the family was in 6th Grade, I explained to each student that there were/are easier methods to solve a math problem than (sometimes) of how the teacher explains it.
Having a B.A. in Liberal Studies, my goal is to help students excel in Math & give them the confidence they need to succeed in life. Math is a very fun subject, & yet, also needed in today's society.

Algebra II Tutoring
Algebra II - B+/B
Despite I was not an “A” student, I will still recognized by my Math Teacher of how I solved each math problem correctly, especially when I was asked to solve certain math problems & explain to the class the necessary steps to solve the math problem correctly. I sometimes fell short by a problem or 2 in getting a A/A-, but still did my very best to solve each math problem.
Geometry Tutoring
Geometry A-/B+
Most of this class involved either measuring angles, area/perimeter, & other mathematical equations including logrithims. My biggest weakness, which was not explained too much throughout the class, was proofs. Despite this setback, my teacher sill recognized my passion in mathematics, & how I was able to solve almost all the problems in my math homework correctly thru a step-by-step solving process.

Math Elementary - A+
Within elementary school, I always took the time to solve each math problem, & sometimes, I would do my math homework last either because I had a lot of math problems that needed to be solved before the next day, or it was the only assignment in the class. But overall, it became my favorite subject up to this day, & always received “almost perfect (missing 1 or 2 problems) to completely perfect” scores on each of my math assignments. My biggest recognition was in 6th Grade when I answered the most Multiplication Problems in an “Around The World” math game against all my classmates, & where I beat them to the very end of the game.

Microsoft Word Tutoring
While I had learned Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, & Microsoft Powerpoint all on my own, I had also taken 2 classes where all 3 of these Office Programs were taught in the same semester: 1 in High School & again at West Valley College. In high school, I had received a B+ whereas in college, a B (since there is no “+”s & “-”s). Because these are basic programs that almost everyone I know has used this software, it is very easy & concise to explain to anyone. I had explained, 1 time, how to use Microsoft Word to a few people since this Office program is basic.
