Fun Facts
Probably the best-known secret about me is that I love to bake! As soon as Fall rolls around I have at least a few loaves of pumpkin bread coming out of the oven! To burn it all off, you'll find me climbing, running, and hiking! I love exploring my surroundings and think that the PNW has a trove of interesting places to be!
About Me
I am a senior at Portland State University where I am pursuing a combined master's and bachelor's in artificial intelligence and signal processing. I love all things math and science and believe that math is a window into the beauty of our universe. I have extensive industry experience and have worked in laboratories in France, in Intel's research laboratories, and currently as a hardware engineer at a startup. I dream of one day starting my own business.
Experience
I have been tutoring and teaching electrical engineering for over two years for college freshman through seniors. Topics covered include calculus, statistics, discrete math, signal processing, C++, Python, MATLAB, circuit analysis and theory, digital logic, and lots of other topics. I also have 1 year of experience as a teaching assistant for Freshman classes. That role involves me teaching students how to apply theory. We build and test circuits and then have discussions about how they function
Approach
My approach to learning and teaching is holistic and involves both hemispheres of the brain. I work to engage the creative right brain by showing the big-picture and by creating a narrative out of the material. Once that context has been established the left-brain work of putting it all together begins. I believe that this approach leaves students with an understanding of how the material fits into their broader understanding of the world around them.
