Fun Facts
I am the middle child of nine children and have lived in eight different states. I absolutely love singing, especially show tunes! I graduated number 20 out of 650 students in high school and competed in social studies competitions. The one thing I am passionate about more than history is my church. I love joking and am fluent in sarcasm as a first language.
About Me
I am currently a history major at Brigham Young University-Idaho and had previously been a Business Administration major at the University of Texas at Austin. I pursued business as a major simply for monetary payoff but could not deny my passion and love for history and so after serving a mission for my church, I switched universities as well as schools! I desire to either teach history or go to law school after I complete my undergrad at BYU-Idaho.
Experience
I am currently working for a second semester as a substitute teacher and as such have had the unique opportunity to teach multiple subjects to students of all grades and backgrounds, most of the time with no preparation. Throughout high school I had started study sessions with about 30 people in attendance which I led preparing for AP testing, specifically in World, US, and European History.
Approach
My approach varies from student to student. If I had learned anything from tutoring my friends and working as a substitute teacher, it's that every student is different. Generally, my first interaction involves a standard textbook approach with asking what they know and what the student is confused on. However, I have learned to use unique approaches utilizing multimedia such as creating videos, writing scripts, and creating projects based around historical events.

History Tutoring
I have taken specialized history courses such as 17th Century America in the Atlantic World to testing out of core history classes such as three semesters of American History and two semesters of World History. As a history major, not only must I be proficient in core history classes, I also must be proficient in specialized and detailed history courses which allow me to teach and tutor with greater insight and answer almost any question based around your history courses.
AP History Tutoring
As a high school student, I received scores of four and five in AP History tests. On top of this I have had the opportunity to teach as a substitute teacher in high school history classes and conduct lessons both prepared by the full time teacher, and by myself.
Chemistry Tutoring
I am currently one class away from obtaining a minor in chemistry, and have taken both honors chemistry and AP chemistry in high school, passing the AP exam and having obtained A's in both classes.
Algebra Tutoring
Having been employed as a substitute teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach and prepare lesson plans for middle school math classes, particularly algebra, and have had the opportunity to practice and tune in my teaching methods for this subject.
