I am a self-proclaimed modern Renaissance man. Self-taught in a number of areas, I am a lover of many topics including the arts, music, philosophy, economics, finance, linguistics, and psychology.But most especially History and Spanish. One of the biggest challenges I face as an individual is deciding what is most interesting to me and how exactly I wish to give back to my community. Nevertheless, I am best skilled at what I am most trained in, and that is History and Spanish. It is in these two fields that I best serve your needs.

About Me

I have lived in New Mexico for over half my life and I have significantly grown to love it and feel a deep homeland connection to it. In conjunction with my desire to make a future-oriented impact on my state, I wish to apply the skills I have gained throughout my academic career this far in doing so. I am currently working on building a startup in Spanish language services but ultimately wish to succeed as a university historian.

Experience

I am a recent graduate from UNM with my Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish, both with Honors. During my undergrad I also studied abroad in Argentina, on top of coming from a bilingual family. I am deeply passionate about the history of the Spanish-speaking world (especially here in the U.S.) and am very well-education on such. I also have an advanced reading comprehension in Spanish, making me skilled in Spanish translation, writing, grammar, and linguistics.

Approach

With regards to my Spanish teaching approach, I believe that the best way to acquire a language is through immersion and building upon what is already known by the student. I believe its important to recognize patterns in the language and to consider context rather than memorize drills and vocabulary. With regards to history, I believe the best way to understand history is to approach it like a captivating story.
