Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is the I played travel softball for ten years. From the age of eight to the age of 18, I traveled up and down the east coast and the south playing softball with my teammates. I have an older brother who is an aspiring actor and lives in Chicago, Illinois. I also love to sing. I have been a member of auditioned choirs and a cappella groups since elementary school until recently. I took piano lessons when I was younger and would love to pick it up again.

About Me

I am a sohpomore economics major at Spelman College from Leesburg, Virginia. I have been on the Dean's List for a semester, and the Honor Role for the last two. I currently serve as the secretary on the Honors Program Student Association executive board, a campus ambassador for the Community Foundation for Financial Literacy, and as an intern to the Secretary of Business and Finance of the Student Government Association. I am pattionate about financial literacy for students.

Experience

As an assistant camp director at Bricks 4 Kidz, I have designed interactive and creative games, projects, and activities for my campers. Bricks 4 Kidz is a STEM based summer camp and after school program, for kindergarten to seventh grade students, so many of the activities I lead involved simple coding and robotics for kids. My classmates frequently ask me for studying and writing tips, and working for Frog tutoring would be an amazing opportunity for me to help more students.

Approach

Growing up as a student athlete and an active member of my community through Jack and Jill of America Inc., I became adept at managing my time. In the seventh grade, inspired by the tough love of one of my favorite softball coaches and my parents, I learned that you miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take. With that mentality, I have maintained my status as an honors student while staying involved on campus and in my community. I would love to help students do the same.
