Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love music! Dancing is my favorite hobby and playing music is a close second. I have been playing the cello for 14 years. I also enjoy playing soccer and finding other ways to exercise such as yoga and hiking! I played Division 1 soccer through college.
About Me
I am a Lafayette College graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I am a self-starter who is curious and loves to learn. I am patient, nice, and seek to understand. I read a lot of articles, science publishings, research studies, and newspapers and find that I am very able to create relationships between different ideas, which allows me to make solutions as well as teach information. Credible in math, got a perfect score on that section of the SAT.
Experience
I began tutoring when I was a sophomore in high school after loving Chemistry I. I would offer help to friends and would be quickly hired by their parents. Since then, I have continued to manage private in-home clients working with math courses of all levels as well as chemistry. During college I also worked for the Academic Tutoring Center with peers meeting weekly. Chemistry is my specialty as I am building on over 7 years of experience!
Approach
I am very methodical with a student's understanding of notes, organization of practice problems, and formulation of study guides. I like to work with a student on outlining main ideas, familiarizing with content relevance, revisiting and relating recurrent themes. I really like to teach a problem solving methodology that involves a sequence of specific steps that can be applied to other and future classes the student will take as they progress.
