Fun Facts
I am a major language nerd. Growing up in California I picked up a working knowledge of Spanish and then moved on the learn Russian- Icelandic is next on my list. I'm also super in to biking and once took an impromptu bike ride from LA to Santa Barbara and back in 4 days (250 miles).
About Me
I am a staff writer for a Seattle based publication and have been in the writing business for about 5 years now, ranging from print newspapers to online publications. I worked as production and distribution manager for a film company in LA before moving to San Francisco in 2014. From there I graduated from SFSU with a Bachelor's in Communications and moved up to Seattle.
Experience
Besides extensive working knowledge of the subjects I help with I have tutored at public schools in the Los Angeles School District since 2012. Upon moving to Seattle I was excited to see how close the UE campus is to the heart of the city and am excited to start unmystifying knowledge to students once more!
Approach
I try to first figure out how a student learns best. I know I have my own way of learning just as everyone has theirs and if we know how best we learn it can make all the difference. Instead of rote memory techniques (which have been proven inefficient anyways) understanding the concept behind the information helps to better solidify it in our heads.

Throughout college I consistently wrote at the top of my class. I have worked in the writing industry since graduation and have valuable experience in the subtle aspects of writing.
GED Tutoring
Instead of graduating high school I opted for my GED and scored a 99% on it.
Literature Tutoring
As a writer by trade with a minor in journalism I have extensive working knowledge of analyzing and breaking down literature to college standards. I have been writing and editing college literature essays since 2012. No topic is too far out there.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have consistently scored top of my class in all topics relating to the English language. Reading comprehension is the science of the language arts and can be understood by way of formula-like strategies. I have a major in Communications with a minor in Journalism and have worked in the field for over 5 years.
Study Skills Tutoring
After 4 years of college, graduating with a 3.8 from San Francisco State University I know all the ins and outs of proficient and effective studying that will get anyone to the top of their class. It's not only time management that is a factor in effective studying!

I started on a newspaper in L.A writing my own political column and then moved into copy editing.
