I have two girls and enjoy spending time with my family. I love to read. I have just retired and have a passion for working with students. In my spare time, I like to garden and shop.

About Me

I am a retired public school administrator who has taught tutorials each year to keep in close contact with my students. I have an elementary education degree from Oakland University in Michigan and a Master's degree from houston">the houston">University of Houston Clear Lake. My experience has allowed me to have extensive training in reading strategies for troubled readers and early grades math. I taught 6th and 8th-grade social studies and have prepared the student for the STAAR exams.

Experience

I have over 25 years teaching experience in 4th, 5th,6th, 7th and 8th-grade teaching reading, English, and social studies. Additionally, I have tutored 2nd and 3rd graders. Finally, I have pre-AP training in English.

Approach

I typically evaluate the students and provide them with a bridge from missed learning to grade level work. As a tutor, I re-teach content and furnish additional practice until the skill is mastered. I like to make my sessions work and fun. I am adept at helping students organize their time and keeping parents informed on their child's progress.
